Today's showcase looks at a business that thrives on making it's clients look the business.
Abby's Beauty Secrets, owned by Abby Gordon and baeed in Perth has been operating for around 2 and a half years, with Abby continuing to see her business blossom.
Abby prides herself on the high standard and modern treatments that Abby's Beauty Secrets carries out, always ensuring that their clients needs are at the heart of everything the business does.
It's not just the clients that are loving Abby's Beauty Secrets, with Abby adding:
"I love the variety of working in the Beauty industry. I love making people feel good about themselves and enjoy the constant challenge of running a business in an industry which is ever evolving with the development of new products and treatments."
The business has also seen fantastic growth since starting in June 2014:
"We have recently taken over adjacent premises - now offering three floors of beauty. We have breath-taking views of Perth and the hills beyond from our top floor beauty room where we can offer pamper parties or individual treatments. In addition to this we have two treatment rooms and a clinical room on our middle floor, as well as our original treatment room on the ground floor which caters for disabled access. We now employ 5 staff not including myself."
Abby's Beauty Secrets was also the worthy winners of an enterprise competition run by Perth College University of the Highlands and Islands, that helped Abby take big steps in driving the business forward:
"I won an Enterprise competition run by the college, this gave me a cash injection to help me open my business premises and acheive a license for semi-permanent make-up. I was also given invaluable business support and advice from the college.
I was also delighted to get a loan from the Princess Trust to help me fund equipment, training updates and salon decoration and other costs associated with opening premises."
That's not the only competition that has been won by a member of the team at Abby's Beauty Secrets, as Abby adds:
"A new staff member won Best Young Talent in the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards within only months of her starting. We have also got to the final of the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards this year and are also in the finals for the Perth Business Star Awards."
Looking to the future, Abby has fantastic plans for the business:
"Our plans over the next year is to increase the hours of one of our therapists to become full time. I would like to expand our pamper party side, attracting the people of Perth and also contributing to the city by giving visitors a variety of experiences and sending them home with the idea that Perth is a great place to visit for a city break.
I would also like to have all staff trained in all treatments the salon offers in order that new information, techniques and knowledge can be shared in an ongoing basis. We wish to expand our variety of treatments and keep up to date with the latest technology."
